We are thrilled to announce that our first online competition was a massive success, attracting nearly 350 entries! Read below to view a list of all the results.
Usually at the end of October, dancers from all across the country travel to our elegant and charming Regency Ballroom to compete in our annual competition, the East Midlands Dance Championships. Unfortunately, we were unable to host this event due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Instead, we decided to run our very first online dance competition, The Regency Star Awards.
We were delighted to see so many dancers and dance schools from across the UK submit their entries and we are very grateful for everyone who entered. To enter our competition, the competitors recorded their videos in dance schools, bedrooms and kitchens and sent them to our judges to mark. Our judges for this event were British Profesisonal Ballroom Champions, Mark and Olga Elsbury, who kindly accepted our invitation to judge 347 entries! They were very impressed with the standard and the determination of the competitors despite being in lockdown.
All our finallists will receive a certificate, as well as a £100 voucher from our generous sponsors Distinct Designs Ballroom Cotour.
