On Saturday 24th June The Regency Dance Centre opened its doors for the glamour of a Summer Ball in aid of the Dancers' Forget-Me-Not Fund. Our full report is below.
The Dancers’ Forget-Me-Not charity works to support dancers by providing a financial gift during difficult times of illness or injury. They are able to support Ballroom, Latin-American and Sequence dancers of all levels including social, competitive and professional.
The charity has recently assisted a family who are customers at The Regency Dance Centre. The generosity of the Forget-Me-Not Fund not only helped financially but was also a source of encouragement for them to persevere through a difficult time. The directors were very moved by the charities’ kindness and wanted to support the charity so that others could also benefit from their work.
The event was a huge success. The Beeston Big Band kindly offered their live music at a discounted rate for the event which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The Band was accompanied by a stage show from young dancers that train at The Regency Dance Centre and a fabulous demonstration from the successful competitive Latin dancers, Mark and Kay Farrugia. A renowned Regency buffet kept everyone sustained throughout the evening. Medals were also presented to students who had recently taken nationally recognised exams. The guests had lots of fun and were delighted to be contributing towards the Charity.
Funds were raised by ticket sales and a Regency Raffle. We are pleased to announce the grand total of £359.50 was raised, all of which the school knows will go on to help other dancers just as much as its own.
All at The Regency Dance Centre would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to The Dancers' Forget-Me-Not Fund - The charity's big heartedness was felt by all.
The Fund is an unincorporated not-for-profit organisation. You can find out more at dancersforgetmenotfund.co.uk.
