The workshop is suitable for absolute beginners and all age groups. Our instructors will guide you through the fundamentals of American Smooth, providing an introduction to this dance style. Participants will learn basic steps and techniques, explore the unique features of American Smooth, and have opportunities to practice in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

About American Smooth

American Smooth is an elegant and expressive style of ballroom dancing that originated in the United States and has since gained international popularity. This dance takes inspiration from many styles including Standard/Ballroom, Latin-American, jazz, and contemporary, which allows for exceptional creativity and flexibility in choreography.

The primary distinction between American Smooth and traditional Standard Ballroom is its allowance for partners to separate from the traditional closed hold. This unique feature enables dancers to perform a wider range of movements, including turns, dips, and other dynamic sequences, making this dance both exciting and entertaining to perform.

About the Instructors

Mark and Olga Elsbury are the current World Showdance Champions. They are very passionate about teaching American Smooth and are excited to share their expertise with workshop participants. With years of professional experience and a deep understanding of dance, Mark and Olga are dedicated to making dance accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of their skill level.
