On Sunday 8th May, The Regency Dance Centre took a cohort of students, including myself to the NATD Social Competition at the Festival Hall in Kirkby - in -Ashfield. In this article, I am going to share an insider view of a competitor, just in case you could be tempted to give competitive dancing a try yourself.

Paso Doble (meaning two step) is essentially a march in its basic form. Most of us can recognise the Paso Doble based on its iconic style of music and unique dance characteristics due to its European origins.

Each month, our ASI instructor Paula Hyde, will be talking to one of our students and finding out why they love dancing at The Regency Dance Centre. What do giant knitting needles, glow in the dark doodling and ballroom dancing have in common? They all came together, amongst other activities, to light up the Sutton in Ashfield community!

Doors will open at 9am and we will start the first round at 10am prompt. We will be commencing with the Juvenile Latin-American and the Junior Ballroom, sections. Unfortunately we are not able to accept any late entries on the day.

Last week we saw the return of the famous Blackpool Dance Festival where competitors from across the world travelled to the famous Winter Gardens Ballroom. The festival included many categories for Ballroom, Latin-American and American Smooth which saw some excellent results for British couples!

We have a brand new Ballroom & Latin-American class starting on Thursday 9th September 2021!

Barre Fitness is a brand-new group exercise class that combines the elegant moves of Ballet with the fitness benefits of Pilates, all set to fun and upbeat music! This class is perfect for anyone looking to improve their posture, flexibility, balance, body control as well as improving muscle endurance!

We are so pleased to announce we had some fantastic results in the NATD Festival of Dance Online competition including two national champions!
