Last week we saw the return of the famous Blackpool Dance Festival where competitors from across the world travelled to the famous Winter Gardens Ballroom. The festival included many categories for Ballroom, Latin-American and American Smooth which saw some excellent results for British couples! 

The Blackpool Dance Festival has a long and prestigious history, first running in 1920 which has only been missed between 1941 – 1945 due to War and last year due to the outbreak of CoVid-19.

Despite the obstacles caused by the pandemic, this year’s festival still saw competitors from across the world travel to Blackpool to compete in the world-famous competition. There was some very tough competition throughout the week-long festival which saw the rise of new professional Ballroom Champions, Domen Krapez and Natascha Karabey dancing for Germany and new Professional Latin-American Champions, Troels Bager and Ina Jeliazkova winning for the USA. 

England were particularly successful this year with several winners and finalists! Here are some of the notable results achieved by British couples this year:
